Windows

This weekend we begin a 5-week series and we are doing a lot of looking into our lives and others. What about our own window to our homes?

I am reminded of what my home must look like as people look inside. It is a bit chaotic. A family of 5, a crazy dog, people coming and going, ministry events, church office, ect... It really gets crazy here.

However.... The one thing I want is for my house to be a Godly home. I want people to know that when they come here... we pray, we serve, we honor, and we glorify God. He is the first and the last in our home

Do people see that in your home? I am talking about the heart. Not the pretty decorations, not the cross hanging there on the wall... but the true heart of the home.

Updates From the Field...

This has been a great 6 weeks at New Walk. We had our amazing anniversary and last week we took yet another jump in growth. Here is what is cool though. We are talking about money in a different way at New Walk during our current series and last week when we talked about materialism, we had several people take steps and make changes in this area. So many people began to plead to God for improvement in this area. It was confirmation that the stats about money are so true. In case you have not seen it, here is our series video at the bottom.

ANOTHER COOL NOTE: On Wednesday we had over 2o kids come forward for prayer about addictions. It was powerful!! Just like Paul says in Ephesians 3:8-9, I can not believe He has chosen me to be a part of something so special. Guess what... He has chosen all of the New Walk people to be a part of the amazing stuff taking place. What an honor!

Well, we had an amazing weekend at New Walk. Really the last 2 weekends have been incredible. This past Sunday we had the largest crowd in our history for our 1-year anniversary. Over 350 were there and we had people give their lives to Christ for the first time!

Below is our 1-year video and a picture from last Sunday.

What a Summer at New Walk!

We started this summer wondering how it would go. Many churches struggle in summer and new churches struggle even more in their first summer. I asked God and you all to help us make it through.

What a response!

Some stuff we saw this summer:

  • Tons of new commitments made (1st-time and re-dedications)

  • 120 New adults at New Walk (not including kids!)

  • Hit 280 people on the last day of summer had around 210 before summer)

Thanks to God and thanks to all those who make New Walk possible! I am looking forward to our 1-year celebration and this fall.

3 Weeks Until School Starts!

Is it just me or are kids doing less in the summer than when I was a kid. I remember everyday of summer waking up to the extravaganza of "What can I do today". It was a blast!

I can not tell you how many times I have talked to kids this summer who when I asked "What are you doing today?" replied, "Nothing... I'm bored.". What!!!! Bored??? How is that possible?

Maybe I am just crazy but it seems they are not as active. Maybe it is the single-parent household thing. There is less time for parents today to really introduce our kids to cool stuff out there. Maybe it is video games. Not sure. Oh well..... my summers were awesome and jam-packed!

Next 3 series at New Walk....

Tongue Tied (2 Weeks)

Just a Walk Across the Room (4 Weeks)

T.G.I.M (6 Weeks)

Growing During the Summer??!!

Well, we are 2 weeks into our series "straightUPscrewedUP.com" and we have some great stuff happening. We have had 21 new families visit in the last 2 weeks, tons of fresh decisions made, and we had 231 in attendance this week.

I am off to a conference this week but only for a few days. We will get a chance to answer questions about how things are going here in Florida. We will be a topic of discussion for sure.

I was in a coaching network meeting on Wednesday and we set some goals for New Walk there. With our "Outreach September" coming up, we believe that we can impact people significantly in the community. We will see how we do.

Youth Group is at camp. I am praying for life change there and safe return. Attached is a pic from camp of Niles Malec. They are having a blast!

Screwed Up, Baptisms, & Satan Sucks!

I am looking forward to our new series this weekend. I am thinking that in this community we are dealing with a ton of life scars. Some self-inflicted, some imposed by others. Just a look at the straightupscrewedup.com website shows a VERY SMALL sampling. I am desperate for people to be repaired. God is even more desperate. My heart breaks... yet rejoices at the same time. You see... we had 23 baptisms (that makes 30 so far) the other day. So, I am grateful to stick it in satan's ear. Love y'all New Walk Rocks!

Summer is Jumping & the Critics

What a wild time we are having already this summer. On Wednesday night, we had several kids make first time decisions. On Sunday, we also had 2 adults make decisions for Christ...as well as about 12 more people commit to Baptism.

New Walk has its critics . We have been called some wild things by some folks that are jealous but the fact is, the fruits of Christ are showing. We are reaching people so incredibly that God is BLESSING! More people are worshipping boldly each week. More people are serving each week. More people are giving and those that were giving before, are giving more each week. People's lives are changing and there is tremendous evidence.

Some stats from 8 months:

-Over 40 Conversions

-Tons of Baptisms coming (in 2 weeks)

-Between 80-100 volunteers that are active monthly.

-Tremendous growth happening almost weekly.

THAT IS GOD! He blesses because we are fulfilling the basic principle he asked... GO OUT and reach everyone you can... but start in your neighborhood first. So many times, the church sits and hopes people will come to them. I have actually seen some churches that do no outreach and then pray on Sunday that "God will send them people". However, Jesus commands us several times in scripture to GO GET THEM! We can not sit back.... WE WILL GO GET THEM!

Keep on going after them.... God will take care of everything else!

Headed into Summer...

Well, we are heading into our first summer at New Walk. It will be so key to the future of our church. We will do outreaches this summer to keep momentum going but I am grateful for what God has done. Amazing really.... we have averaged almost 200 now for 8 weeks. Do you know that only 7% of new churches 3-6 YEARS old ever grow this far? We are only 7 months old. Why is it that God is clearly doing something great at New Walk? I think it is the heart.... the heart of the people leading & serving. Also, the heart of the church as a whole. The "DNA" of the church is forming. We are strong on God, kids, & people. We have a casual atmosphere but a serious faith!

I watched my daughter Sydney receive an award today at school. She was so humble about it. I thought... time is flying so fast, but I am so happy that she is docovering God at New Walk. I hope that others who have their kids involved and even those without kids will never lose the Christ-Focus... the OUTWARD focus the church must have.

CRAZY SOUL-WINNING!!

What a weekend at New Walk. We had a Friday night concert at the YMCA for some YMCA leaders who were being trained there that night and they loved it! Then Saturday Night we had our "Night of Life" at the YMCA and 151 were in attendance. Over 100 students were in attendance. Our guest speaker Dennis Minner led Christians to rededication and New Believers to the saving message of Jesus. Sunday, Dennis spoke to our adults and people were impacted again. Almost 340 ministered to this weekend. The numbers are still coming in but GET THIS... it looks like at least 10 got saved!!!!

THANKS to everyone who makes it happen. I love you all!!

Easter Recap

The numbers are in and New Walk rocked... Our new church had a great turnout... 283. Up 114 from Christmas. The egg hunt was great. Everyone made it happen. God is amazing and we see how He works when we have church full of people that that understand the importance of delivering His word and reaching others. We are getting ready to take a major step later this year as we break more barriers. We are about to jump into being a church with incredible outreach and growth. I can feel it... How about some of the people who's lives have changed.... INCREDIBLE! Thanks to everyone who helps. We could not do it without you. On launch day it was only a handful of people doing the work... This time it was a bunch of people. See you soon!

Wow... what a weekend we had last Sunday with 207 in attendance and so many people impacted! We give God the praise! This weekend starts spring break here in Pasco County but next weekend is Easter and we are busy getting ready for a big day of outreach. Our mailers go out Monday and that will be a relief when they finally arrive in the mailboxes of the 35,000 homes!
To the left is a picture of some of the youth at our pool for youth night. We are getting ready to bring that ministry up a notch! We had 30 come last night. Thanks to the adults who helped too!

Sitting Here Tonight Thinking....

What an amazing journey so far for New Walk. It is after midnight and sometimes I get so humbled at the thought of how many of you have the New Walk vision for soul-winning. Somewhere along the line, churches and Christians get lost in their mission and become inward focused, but at New Walk we seem to get the fact that outward is our mission. We have the fruit to prove it.... so many lives changed already.... so many people finding themselves and their pupose with God. Let's keep fighting together. Easter will be big. 35,000 mailers going out people will come needing to feel loved! Let's show them!!!

The Kingdom Grows!

What a great weekend we had. Six people gave their lives to Christ between 2 services at New Walk. The angels rejoice and the enemy gets mad. Just the way we like it. Over 230 different people came and visited New Walk this weekend and we had 281 people in attendance between the 2 service. AMAZING! How old is this church.... 6 months?

I am forever grateful for all the help. New Walk people are INCREDIBLE!

I love you all!

COUNTDOWN TO MARCH 3rd

We are just a few days away from our big night of outreach. We have placed 100 signs around town, passed out tons of invite cards, made 500 phone invites, and placed two ads in the paper. I am so excited and the band is too. They are going to be great. Thanks to all who are involved by praying, helping, and gving. Come visit us that night if you want and see New Walk saving lives.

We have been working our tails off... I am preaching 3 times this weekend and preparing all of that has been wild. My most important one will be Saturday night as I have to connect with the kids and reach them where they are at.... then give them the hope of salvation in Christ!

Pray for us!

I am so excited about what the Youth are doing at New Walk! The group is growing and they are getting ready for the March 3rd outreach. It is amazing to so how they want this night to go so well. I am humbled to see the work that Lord is doing through Jacob and and all of the youth. What is crazy is that most of them in the group have no of how significant that night will be. We will impact so many lives and they will all have a hand in it.

Basketball Team... working to improve but we are 0-3! We are still eating come humble pie in this league of professional ball players.

As I am about to close this posting,I just got a praise report I must write about. Ecentral Francois, who is a great helper at servant of the Lord at New Walk had some blood work come into some bad ranges. They were so serious that he was admitted today to the hospital immediately from the clinic. We prayed.... the hopspital took his blood reading again, and it was all normal!

Praise the Lord for answered prayer.... that quickly!

Veggie Tales Was Great & Basketball

Veggie tales was real cool and thanks to all who helped ti make it happen. I am looking forward to some stuff we are doing this and the planning we are doing for some future events. This week we also are trying to secure a place for a marriage retreat that we want to provide for couples in the church.

Our church basketball team did better this week. The positives... We actually led well into the first half, we scored 46 points and Andy and Lamar lit the scoring up. The negative.... we still lost.

God Bless you all!!!

174!

What an amazing Sunday... we had 174! That is larger than our Christmas crowd and the largest since launch day. We have now had almost 80 visitors in 4 weeks and the church is rolling. People's lives are changing and God is all over the place. This weekend is the beginning of an awesome new series called "Why" and we are going to talk about great principles around dating, marriage, and love. This series will affect everyone... I guarantee it!

Youth night tonight and tomorrow, Jacob and I get to visit a mega church down in Ft. Lauderdale that is mentoring us. We are blessed for the relationship with Flamingo Road.

See you Sunday!

Getting Ready for Sunday

It has been a good week and we are getting ready to have a good message on the dreams we have for our lives. We had a great time at Winter Jam last Friday. We took 28 people. There were six bands and we had 7 commitments to Christ that night! Check out the attached picture of Stephen Curtis Chapman as he spoke to the pastors that night. The youth ate some seriously nasty stuff on Wednesday night as a part of our Fear Factor eating challenge. That group is growing!

See you Sunday,

Pastor Gary

Wow! Great having visitors!

We have had over 40 visitors at New Walk in 2 weeks. Some churches don't get that in a year!! You all are inviting people and many of them are loving their uplifting experience.

We are working hard this week to make some sound improvements to the stage. It may take us a couple weeks but we will get it done! It will cut down on a bunch of noise in the building.

I am taking down my Christmas lights today and Brooke (my 2-year old) is helping me. Headed to Camp Meeting tonight for a continuation of our week long preacher's revival.

See you soon!!
